October/November

The weather has changed and changed again in such a short period of time. Nature never ceases to amaze me. Beautiful and yet so unforgiving.

Last week we woke up to a layer of snow, had about 10cm of snow on the ground.

Bees seem all right. Bunched up as they should be, I have not interrupted their cycle,I can hear them buzzing when I put my ear to the hive.  I spoke to a local beekeeper who has just treated his bees against Varroa and told me to do so as well. To be honest I am a bit unsure as I did the sugar shake although not as many times as I would have liked but still and they don’t seem to be too badly infected. Will have to read up about it.

The main reason why he was able to do his bees is due to the weather change. All the snow is gone. It was about 12 degrees today and about the same yesterday with blue sky and sun shining. Lovely.

We went for a walk today, spent 3 hours walking in this beautiful countryside which gives me immense amount of pleasure and gratitude towards it. I feel privileged to be surrounded by such beauty.

3 wise owls  – my new addition to crochet creatures. Very easy to make and they look pretty good too.

It is cooling  down now, forecasted to rain for the next 3 days but snow can come, we are pretty ready for it.
